ROYAL ALBERT HALL SHOW BROADCAST ANNOUNCED
NME.com reports that BBC Radio 2 will carry a live broadcast of the band's Royal Albert Hall concert on March 24th.
R.E.M. and Friends, a benefit concert for the Institute of Contemporary Arts, will feature performances by R.E.M., Robyn Hitchcock, Foals, and Duke Spirit.

R.E.M. ADDS UK DATES TO '08 TOUR
The band has now added four dates in the U.K. to their upcoming tour of Europe this summer. The dates are as follows:
Sunday, Aug. 24: Manchester, L.C.C.C. Monday, Aug. 25: Cardiff, Millennium Stadium Wednesday, Aug. 27: Southampton, Rosebowl Saturday, Aug. 30: London, Twickenham Stadium

NPR TO WEBCAST/BROADCAST R.E.M.'S SXSW SHOW (updated)
National Public Radio will webcast and broadcast (and possibly podcast!) R.E.M.'s performance at Stubb's Bar-B-Q on Wednesday, March 12. The web/broadcast, set for 8pm (CT), is one of two SXSW 2008 Showcase Concerts, and will also include performances by supporting bands, Dead Confederate, Johnathan Rice, Papercranes, and Summerbirds in the Cellar.
Additionally, for the second year in a row, NPR and five NPR Member stations – KUT Austin, WFUV New York, WXPN Philadelphia, KEXP Seattle and The Current from Minnesota Public Radio – will offer extensive coverage of the influential music festival on-air and online. |

REM AND THE VERVE TEED UP FOR SCOTLAND'S BIG FESTIVAL
REM and the Verve will headline this year's T In The Park music festival.
The American alternative rockers and the re-formed British band will lead what organisers are calling a "mega line-up" for the three-day event at Balado in Perthshire.
Kings Of Leon and Rage Against The Machine have also been announced as headliners. The Verve will play the Main Stage on the Friday night, REM will appear on Sunday evening.
Other confirmed acts include the Kaiser Chiefs, the Fratellis, Stereophonics, the Prodigy and the Chemical Brothers. The Kooks, Primal Scream, K T Tunstall, The Enemy and The Feeling will also perform. |
